From 0:00 to 24:00 on February 16, 2020, Shanghai reported 1 newly confirmed case of covid-19 (1 case in Haizhu district). 10 new cured patients were discharged.

As of 24:00 on February 16, 339 confirmed cases of covid-19 were reported in Shanghai, including 74 cases in Baiyun district, 66 cases in Haizhu district, 44 cases in Tianhe district, 40 cases in Panyu district, 35 cases in Yuexiu district, there were 19 cases in Huadu district, 18 cases in Huangpu district, 17 cases in Liwan district, 17 cases in Zengcheng district, 8 cases in Nansha district and 1 case in Conghua district. 163 males and 176 females. The age is between 1-90 years old. There is one suspected case. The total number of verified and tracked close contacts was 3442, and 825 people were still under medical observation.

Of the 339 confirmed cases, 131 have been cured and discharged without death. At present, 208 cases are isolated in designated hospitals, including 12 cases of critical, 9 cases of severe, 179 cases of common type and 8 cases of light type; 169 cases are in eight hospitals in the city (including 3 cases of critical, 4 cases of heavy duty), 17 cases in the second provincial hospital (including 1 case of heavy duty), 17 cases in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangyi (including 9 cases of critical duty and 4 cases of heavy duty), 5 cases were treated in the municipal women’s and Children’s Center.

Age distribution: 5 cases under 3 years old, 4 cases aged 4-10 years old, 6 cases aged 11-14 years old, 10 cases aged 15-20 years old, 39 cases aged 21-30 years old, 59 cases aged 31-40 years old, 63 cases aged 41-50 years old, there were 64 cases aged 51-60, 67 cases aged 61-70, 15 cases aged 71-80, and 7 cases over 81 years old.

New cases involve communities or places

From 0:00 to 24:00 on February 16, 2020, a new confirmed case was added in Shanghai, and it was found that one district and one place were involved through investigation. After the confirmed cases were found, the disease control department had immediately carried out strict final disinfection of the communities involved, urging and guiding the communities and properties to do daily preventive disinfection work. Close contacts related to the case have been sent to the designated place for medical observation.
