[Introduction]: Case 1 entered Hong Kong from Paris, France, and was confirmed after returning to Shanghai. Case 2 returned to Fujian from Philippines, entered Shanghai Baiyun International Airport, and was sent to hospital for isolation and observation. Case 3 returned to Zhejiang from England through Thailand, entered Shanghai Baiyun International Airport, and was sent to the hospital for isolation and observation.

From 0:00 to 24:00 on March 16, 2020, Shanghai reported 3 new confirmed cases of covid-19, all of which were imported overseas, including 1 case in France, 1 case in Philippines and 1 case in Britain.

Relevant information of newly imported confirmed cases abroad:

Case 1: male, 64 years old, French nationality, resident in zhong cun Street, Panyu district. The patient entered Hong Kong, China from Paris, France, and was diagnosed after returning to Shanghai. This is the second case imported overseas in Shanghai.

In the middle of January, the patient went to Paris, France. He left Paris on March 12 and took Lufthansa LH1041 and LH796 successively. He entered Hong Kong at 16:20 on March 13. On the same day, take a taxi to the Gulf port and send it to the designated isolation point by the Shanghai disease control department.

At 20:00 on March 14, the special car was picked up from Shanghai to the designated isolation point in Shanghai without fever and respiratory symptoms. In the early morning of the 15th, the car was sent back to Panyu residence for separate isolation. The throat swab collected by the disease control department was tested positive for coronavirus nucleic acid. On the afternoon of the 15th, the disease control department again collected and tested positive, the patient was then transferred from the isolation office to Shanghai Eighth People’s Hospital for isolation and observation.

On the morning of March 16, the patient’s CT examination showed inflammation in the lungs. After expert consultation, the patient was diagnosed as a confirmed case of coronavirus (mild).

As of 24: 00 on March 16, 22 people who initially identified close contacts had concentrated on isolated medical observation.

The disease control department finally disinfected its residence and other related places.

Case 2: Gao, male, 26 years old, Chinese resident in Jinjiang, Fujian province, works and lives in Manila, Philippines. Gao returned to Fujian from the Philippines and entered Shanghai Baiyun International Airport. He was sent to the hospital for isolation and observation. This is the third case imported overseas in Shanghai.

At 14:40 on March 15, Gao took flight CZ3092 from Manila, Philippines to enter Shanghai Baiyun International Airport. After investigation, Gao had headache, cough and fever symptoms before heading out, at 19 o’clock, Shanghai customs collected throat swabs for testing, and at 23 o’clock, they were sent to Shanghai Eighth People’s Hospital for isolation and observation by ambulance.

At 11 o’clock on March 16th, the customs informed GAO that the test result was positive for coronavirus nucleic acid. When the Japanese classics consulted, it was diagnosed as a confirmed case of coronavirus.

As of 24: 00 on March 16, 32 close contacts were initially identified, of which 4 were in Shanghai and all had been intensively isolated for medical observation; 28 close contacts were in the Philippines, the relevant department has sent a letter to assist in the investigation.

The disease control department conducted terminal disinfection on relevant places.

Case 3: Shen, female, 19 years old, Chinese, Ningbo, Zhejiang province, and a British student. Shen returned to Zhejiang from England through Thailand, entered Shanghai Baiyun International Airport, and was sent to the hospital for isolation and observation. This is the fourth case imported overseas in Shanghai.

On March 14, Shen set off from Britain through Bangkok, Thailand, and took ER068 and CZ364 flights one after another. On March 15, he entered Shanghai Baiyun International Airport at 23:20 and had cough symptoms. Shanghai Customs collected throat swabs for testing. At 3 o’clock on March 16, the ambulance was sent to Shanghai Eighth People’s Hospital for isolation and observation.

At 12 o’clock on March 16, the customs informed Shen that the test result was positive for coronavirus nucleic acid. When the Japanese classics consulted, it was diagnosed as a confirmed case of coronavirus.

As of 24:00 on March 16, the initial screening of five close contacts had been centralized in isolated medical observation.

The disease control department conducted terminal disinfection on relevant places.
